Good to know
Attendance % = attended ÷ held × 100. To reach a target t from below, you need x more classes in a row where (attended + x) ÷ (held + x) ≥ t, so x = (t × held − attended) ÷ (1 − t), rounded up. With 42 of 60 (70%), you need 12 more to reach 75% (54 of 72).
If you are above the target, you can miss y classes where attended ÷ (held + y) ≥ t, so y = attended ÷ t − held, rounded down. With 50 of 60, you can miss 6 and still have 75.76%.
Many Indian universities, colleges and boards require 75% attendance to sit the exam, sometimes with condonation for medical reasons. Rules differ (some count each subject or lab separately), so check your institution's regulations.
Questions
How many classes do I need to attend to get 75% attendance?
Enter your numbers. The tool shows the classes you must attend in a row; the formula is (0.75 × held − attended) ÷ 0.25, rounded up.
How many classes can I miss and still keep 75%?
If you are above 75%, the "You can miss" row shows it: attended ÷ 0.75 − held, rounded down.
Is attendance counted per subject?
Often yes, especially in engineering and medical colleges. Calculate each subject separately if your college does.
What if I cannot reach 75% this term?
Enter the classes left under More options to see the best possible percentage, then talk to your department about condonation rules.
