How to use

  1. Choose degrees or radians in the panel if your sum has sin, cos or tan.
  2. Tap the keys or type on your keyboard. Use 2nd for sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, tan⁻¹, eˣ, 10ˣ, round, floor and ceil.
  3. Press = (or Enter). Tap any line in History to reuse its answer.

Good to know

The calculator follows the normal order of operations: brackets, then powers and roots, then × and ÷ from left to right, then + and −. Unary minus comes after powers, so −2² = −4 and (−2)² = 4. Powers are worked from the right: 2^3^2 = 2^9 = 512. A number next to a bracket, π or a function multiplies it (2π, 3(4+1), 2√9), at the same level as ×, so 1/2π means (1/2)·π; write 1/(2π) if you mean the other.

% works like a shop calculator: 50% is 0.5, and 200 + 10% is 220 (10% of 200 added). Missing closing brackets at the end are closed for you. Results are shown with Indian digit grouping (12,34,567.8); very large or tiny answers use powers of ten. Errors are named plainly: division by zero, not defined (such as √ of a negative number or tan 90°) or too large.

Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is stored or sent: memory (M+, M−, MR, MC), your last answer and the history last until you reload or close the page. Only the angle and decimal settings are remembered on this device. Numbers are standard double-precision, so about 15 significant digits are reliable; for exact fractions, huge factorials or primes use the dedicated calculators linked below.

Questions

Is it in degrees or radians?

Degrees by default, shown as DEG on the display. Switch to radians in the panel. The setting only affects sin, cos, tan and their inverses.

Why is −3² equal to −9?

Powers are worked before the minus sign in front, as in algebra. Type (−3)² to square −3 and get 9.

How does the % key work?

On its own, x% means x ÷ 100. After + or −, it is a percentage of the number before it: 500 − 20% = 400.

Can I use my keyboard?

Yes. Digits, + − * / ^ ( ) and ! work; Enter gives the answer, Backspace deletes and Esc clears. Type functions and constants by name, such as sin(30), ln(2), sqrt(2), cbrt(27), pi or e.

Is my history stored anywhere?

No. It lives only in this open page and disappears when you reload or close it. Nothing is sent to a server.
