Cusec (cubic feet per second) is used for river and canal flows in India; MLD (million litres a day) for city water supply.

How to use

  1. Type the value in the From unit.
  2. Pick the unit to convert to (it starts on litres per hour). Search by name or symbol.
  3. Read the result, or tap any row in the full table to switch the target unit.

Good to know

1 L/s = 60 L/min = 3,600 L/h = 3.6 m³/h. 1 cusec (cubic foot per second) = 28.317 L/s, and 1 cumec (m³/s) = 35.31 cusecs.

Indian usage: canal and river releases are announced in cusecs; city water supply and sewage plants in MLD (million litres per day; 1 MLD = 11.57 L/s). Pump labels often show L/min or m³/h.

US pumps use gallons per minute (US gpm = 3.785 L/min); UK gpm = 4.546 L/min. Ventilation fans use CFM (cubic feet per minute).

Questions

How many L/s is 1 cusec?

28.317 L/s.

How many L/s is 1 MLD?

11.574 L/s (1,000,000 L ÷ 86,400 s).

How do I convert L/min to m³/h?

Multiply by 0.06. 100 L/min = 6 m³/h.

What is CFM?

Cubic feet per minute, used for fans and air flow. 1 CFM = 28.317 L/min.

Is anything I type sent to a server?

No. The conversion runs on your device and nothing is stored.
