Good to know
Sleep time = wake-up time − bedtime (across midnight) − time taken to fall asleep. 11:00 PM to 6:30 AM is 7 hours 30 minutes in bed.
Recommended sleep (National Sleep Foundation, 2015): teenagers 14–17 years 8–10 hours, adults 18–64 years 7–9 hours, adults 65 and over 7–8 hours. The weekly total helps you see whether short nights are adding up.
Time in bed is not the same as time asleep; waking up during the night reduces real sleep. Regularly sleeping much more than 9–10 hours, or feeling tired despite enough sleep, can be a sign of a health problem worth checking with a doctor.
