Good to know
The plan works week by week: maintenance (Mifflin-St Jeor × activity) is recalculated at each new weight, then the deficit for your pace (pace × 7,700 ÷ 7 kcal a day) is taken off. This is why the daily calories fall slowly over the plan.
Safety rules: goals that would put your BMI below 18.5 are not accepted, pace is capped at 1 kg a week, and daily intake never drops below 1,200 kcal (women) or 1,500 kcal (men). When the minimum applies, the plan uses it and the date moves later.
Real life adds water swings, festivals and plateaus. Treat the date as a guide, weigh yourself at the same time each day and look at the weekly average. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, teenagers and people with medical conditions should not diet without a doctor.
Questions
How long will it take to lose 10 kg?
At 0.5 kg a week, about 20 weeks (5 months). At 0.25 kg a week, about 40 weeks.
Why does the calculator refuse my goal?
Your goal is below a BMI of 18.5 for your height, which is underweight. Pick a goal inside the healthy range.
Why does my daily calorie target go down over time?
A lighter body burns fewer calories, so the same pace needs a little less food each week.
What if I hit a plateau?
Plateaus of 1–3 weeks are normal. Check portions and activity, recalculate at your new weight, and be patient.
