Good to know

P&L = (exit − entry) × lot size × lots for a long trade, and (entry − exit) × lot size × lots for a short. A 150-point move on one lot of 65 is ₹9,750 before charges.

Charges use NSE futures rates as of 27 Oct 2026: STT 0.05% on the sell side (raised from 0.02% in Union Budget 2026, from 1 April 2026), exchange charge 0.00183%, SEBI fee ₹10 per crore, stamp duty 0.002% on the buy side and 18% GST, plus the flat brokerage per order you enter. Use the brokerage calculator to edit each rate.

Futures are leveraged: the margin is a fraction of the contract value, so a small move is a large % of your money, both ways. Lot sizes change; check the current lot size on NSE. This is an estimate for planning, not investment advice.

What is return on margin?

Net P&L divided by the margin you blocked. It shows the effect of leverage.
