How to use

  2. Paste the timestamp (seconds or milliseconds are detected) or pick a date and time.
  3. Copy the value you need: IST, UTC, ISO 8601 or the timestamp.

Good to know

A Unix timestamp counts seconds since 1 January 1970, 00:00:00 UTC. JavaScript and many APIs use milliseconds (13 digits); Unix tools and databases often use seconds (10 digits). Auto mode treats values of 100 billion or more as milliseconds.

IST is always UTC+5:30, so 1767225600 is 01-01-2026 05:30:00 in India and 00:00:00 UTC. Dates are shown day-month-year, the Indian order.

Leap seconds are not counted in Unix time. Dates are supported from the year 1000 to 9999; negative timestamps are dates before 1970.

Questions

How do I convert a Unix timestamp to a date?

Paste it in timestamp → date mode. The date and time in IST and UTC appear at once.

Is my timestamp in seconds or milliseconds?

Current times have 10 digits in seconds and 13 digits in milliseconds. Auto mode detects this; you can also choose the unit.

How do I get the timestamp for a date in IST?

Choose date → timestamp, enter the date and time, and keep the zone as IST.

What is the ISO 8601 format?

A standard text form like 2026-01-01T00:00:00.000Z, where Z means UTC. Most APIs accept it.

Is my data stored?

No. Everything is calculated on your device and nothing is sent anywhere.
