How to use

  1. Enter your CTC per year and the basic + DA percentage from your offer letter.
  2. Choose the tax regime. For the old regime, add your 80C investments and other deductions.
  3. Check the PF setting and professional tax, then read your monthly in-hand.

Good to know

The calculation: gross salary = CTC − employer PF − gratuity (if included). In-hand = gross − your PF − professional tax − income tax. Employer and employee PF are each 12% of basic + DA. In the "wage ceiling" setting PF is worked out on basic up to the EPF wage ceiling, which EPFO raised from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month from 17 September 2026 (notification S.O. 5109(E)); you can change it.

Income tax uses FY 2026-27 rules under the Income-tax Act, 2025: new regime with a ₹75,000 standard deduction and a rebate up to ₹12 lakh of taxable income; old regime with a ₹50,000 standard deduction, professional tax and your 80C (your PF counts towards the ₹1.5 lakh). 4% cess is included. Tax is spread evenly over 12 months.

Real payslips vary: employers deduct tax based on your declarations, some pay PF on the full basic, ESI applies below ₹21,000 gross a month, and allowances like meal cards change taxable pay. Professional tax depends on your state (₹200 a month in most states that charge it, ₹2,500 a year at most). Treat the result as an estimate; this page is waiting for a CA review.

Questions

How much of my CTC will I get in hand?

Usually 75–90% of CTC, depending on PF, gratuity, variable pay and tax. With a ₹12 lakh CTC, 50% basic and the new regime, the estimate is about ₹93,800 a month.

Is employer PF part of my salary?

It is part of your CTC but goes to your PF account, not your bank. That is why gross salary is lower than CTC.

What is the PF wage ceiling now?

EPFO raised it to ₹25,000 a month from 17 September 2026. Many employers cap PF at this amount; some deduct 12% of the full basic. Pick the setting that matches your payslip.

Why is variable pay not in my monthly salary?

Bonus and performance pay are usually paid once or twice a year, so they are left out of the monthly figure but included in the yearly in-hand.

Is this my exact take-home?

No. It is an estimate for planning. Your payslip, Form 16 and employer policies decide the final amount.
