  2. 75 − 18 = 57

How to use

  1. Choose marks (internal + final) or weighted percentages.
  2. Enter your internal marks and the final exam's maximum (e.g. 18 of 20, final out of 80).
  3. Set your target percentage, and any minimum the final exam needs on its own.

Good to know

Marks needed = target % × (internal max + final max) − internal marks. With 18 of 20 internal marks and an 80-mark theory paper, 75% overall needs 75 − 18 = 57 out of 80. Marks are rounded up, since you cannot score a fraction.

Many universities also need a minimum in the end-semester exam alone (often 35–40%), and CBSE needs 33% overall in each subject. Put that under More options and the higher of the two is shown.

In weighted mode, needed % = (target − current × (1 − w)) ÷ w, where w is the final exam's weight. At 72% so far with a 40% final, 75% overall needs 79.5% in the final.

Questions

How many marks do I need in the final exam to pass?

Set the target to the pass percentage (for example 33% or 40%) and enter your internal marks. Add the separate theory minimum if your board or university has one.

How do I calculate the marks needed for 75% in CBSE?

With 20 internal marks and an 80-mark theory paper, you need 75 − your internal marks out of 80. For 18 internal marks that is 57.

What does "not possible" mean?

Even full marks in the final would not reach the target. The "Best overall" row shows the highest you can still get.

What is the weighted mode for?

For courses that give the final exam a share of the grade, like 40%, with your current score making up the rest.

Is my data stored?

No. Everything is calculated on your device and nothing is sent anywhere.
