Good to know
Most online forms state a size window, for example 20 KB to 50 KB, and sometimes exact pixel dimensions. Enter both and we stay inside them.
We first lower JPEG quality slightly, and only shrink the dimensions if that is not enough, so faces stay clear.
We count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes for maximum limits and 1,024 bytes for minimum limits. That keeps your file valid whichever definition the portal uses.
Always check the official notification for the current photo rules: background colour, date on photo, and face size change from exam to exam.
Questions
Is my photo uploaded to your server?
No. The resizing runs inside your browser. Your photo never leaves your phone or computer.
The form says 20 KB to 50 KB. What should I enter?
Enter 50 as the maximum and 20 as the minimum. The result will be inside that window.
Will the photo lose quality?
Slightly, because the file gets smaller. We use as much of your size limit as possible to keep it sharp.
Can I set width and height in pixels?
Yes. Fill in both and the photo is centre-cropped to that shape, then sized to your KB limit.
Why did I get the error that the size could not be reached?
The limits may be too tight for this photo, for example a very small maximum with large fixed dimensions. Try a smaller width and height or a larger maximum.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. It is built for phones and works on slow networks after the page loads.
