Good to know
Time is added in base 60: 50 minutes + 20 minutes = 1 hour 10 minutes. The result is shown as a total duration (it can go past 24 hours) and as a time on the 24-hour clock.
When the clock passes midnight, the day change shows +1 (or −1 when going back before midnight). For example, a train leaving at 23:00 that takes 2 hours arrives at 01:00 the next day.
Use it to add up cooking, travel or study times, find when a 3 h 20 min exam ends, or subtract time from a video length.
Questions
How do I add hours and minutes?
Add the minutes; if they reach 60 or more, carry 1 hour and keep the rest. Then add the hours. The calculator does this for seconds too.
What time will it be 2 hours 30 minutes after 8:45?
11:15. Enter 08:45:00, choose add, and put 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Can the result be more than 24 hours?
Yes, as a duration, such as 25:00:15. The clock time row shows it as 01:00:15 with +1 day.
How do I subtract time?
Choose subtract. If the result goes below zero it is shown with a minus sign, and the clock time goes back to the previous day.
