Good to know
Numbers come from the browser's cryptographic generator (crypto.getRandomValues), and each draw uses rejection sampling, so every number in the range is equally likely. That is fairer than many quick generators that use the modulo shortcut.
With 'No repeats' on, each number appears at most once, like drawing chits from a box: good for picking roll numbers, seat numbers or prize winners. With it off, numbers are independent, like rolling dice: 1 to 6 with repeats simulates dice rolls.
Nothing is stored or sent, so no one, including us, can see or change the draw. For official lotteries or anything legally regulated, use the process that rule requires; a screenshot from any website is not proof of a fair draw.
Questions
How do I pick a random winner from 50 people?
Number the people 1 to 50, set From 1 To 50, How many 1, and draw.
Can I generate unique random numbers?
Yes. Keep 'No repeats' on. You can draw at most as many numbers as there are in the range.
Can I simulate a dice?
Set 1 to 6. For several dice, turn 'No repeats' off and set How many to the number of dice.
Are the numbers truly random?
They come from your device's cryptographic random source, which is unpredictable for practical purposes. They are not from a physical process like radioactive decay.
Can I get negative numbers?
Yes. Set a negative From, for example −10 to 10.
