Good to know
Weekly total = weekday hours × 5 + weekend hours × 2. A year is that × 365.25 ÷ 7. 5 hours on weekdays and 6 at weekends is 37 hours a week, about 1,930 hours or 80 full days a year.
The share of waking time assumes about 16 waking hours a day. Add your age under More options to see the total up to age 80, which can be a striking way to see the long-term effect.
There is no official screen limit for adults, but long sitting and late-night screens are linked with poorer sleep, eye strain and less activity. The 20-20-20 rule helps eyes: every 20 minutes look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. For children, the Indian Academy of Pediatrics advises no screens under 2 and at most 1 hour a day for ages 2–5.
