How to use

  1. Choose to start from pace or from speed.
  2. Enter your pace (mm:ss per km or mile) or speed in km/h.
  3. Read the speed, pace and race finish times.

Good to know

Speed in km/h = 60 ÷ pace in minutes per km. A 6:00/km pace is 10 km/h; 5:00/km is 12 km/h; 4:00/km is 15 km/h.

Treadmills in India usually show km/h, while many running apps show pace. This tool lets you switch between the two, for example to set a treadmill for a target race pace.

Race times assume you can hold the same speed for the whole distance, which gets harder as races get longer. For a realistic marathon estimate from a shorter race, use the race time predictor.

Questions

What is 10 km/h in pace?

6:00 minutes per km, or about 9:39 per mile.

How fast is an average jog?

Easy jogging for most adults is about 7–10 km/h (6:00–8:30 per km).

What treadmill speed matches a 5:30 pace?

About 10.9 km/h. Many runners add a 1% incline to mimic outdoor effort.

How do I convert mph to km/h?

Multiply by 1.609. 6 mph is about 9.7 km/h.

Why do the race times look fast?

They assume an even pace for the whole race. Most people slow down over longer distances.
