Working Days Calculator: Exclude Weekends and Your Holidays

Count the working days between two dates. Choose a 5-day or 6-day week and paste your holiday list to take those days out.

Working days

106days

Calendar days
148 days
Weekly offs
42 days
Holidays on working days
0 days

Both dates are counted. Holidays differ by state, so only the dates you enter are removed.

How to use

  1. Enter the start and end dates (both are counted).
  2. Choose Monday–Friday or Monday–Saturday.
  3. Optionally paste your holidays, one date per line, like 26/01/2027.

Good to know

Working days = calendar days − weekly offs − holidays that fall on a working day. A holiday on a Sunday is not taken off twice.

Indian public holidays differ by state, bank and employer. Apart from 26 January, 15 August and 2 October, most holidays are set by the state government or your organisation, so paste the list that applies to you, for example from your HR calendar or the state gazette.

Dates can be typed as 26/01/2027, 26-01-2027 or 2027-01-26, and you can add the holiday name after the date. Many banks close on the second and fourth Saturdays; add those dates to the holiday list if you need that pattern.

Questions

How do I calculate working days between two dates?

Count all days in the range, subtract Saturdays and Sundays (or only Sundays for a 6-day week), then subtract holidays that fall on working days.

Are Indian holidays included automatically?

No. Holidays vary by state and employer, so we do not guess. Paste the list that applies to you and they are removed.

Are the start and end dates counted?

Yes. Both dates are included, which is how leave and project schedules are usually counted.

Can I use it for a 6-day working week?

Yes. Choose Monday–Saturday and only Sundays are treated as weekly offs.

What if I type a date in the wrong format?

Lines that cannot be read are skipped and a warning shows how many. Use day/month/year, like 15/08/2027.
